HSR Check!

Today mark one of the significant event in my life. Its actually the day that I officially had submitted my HSR. For those who wonder what HSR stand for, well, Its actually called Health System Research in long term. I had spend over a year to finish this project and finally it's has come to an end. Phew, what a relief. I went to see my supervisor this afternoon after work. And today is also my first day in Medical Posting. I had experience working in medical rotation before. My comments about medical is - yucks. It still the same yucks that I get a year ago. Medical is very interesting subject apart from Emergency Medicine but if you were to work and stay in Medical, my personal opinion is that, you won't even find any time for yourself. Let alone enjoying your break at peace. With all the workload that medical has to offer, I don't reckon that you find it at ease while enjoying your meal. Back to my HSR. I don't reckon to choose a topic which will make my mind blow. It's just a simple topic that I choose. It's about DM, and this include DM Type I and DM Type II. If I manage to convert the file to .pdf, I may consider of putting the file on this blog and that will only after I find out how to la kot since Im not really internet savvy. Hehe. Time does fly fast I guess, within 2 weeks time, I will be sitting for my final. Insyaallah. Hope everything goes well. But in the mean times, I had to face the worst department in my life. Hope that things goes as what I had planned. Guess that is all that I had in mind now. Will update this again some other time. As Salam.

phuewww.....at last my peads rotation....

Today is the day.. Yay...Finally, the day has come for my peads rotation to be ended. Overall feeling upon finishing this posting were like "Null" Haha... Maybe its because not much of the procedure that i can do in this rotation, but its the fact that I am not so keen in peads..Even during peads subject which were tough back in classes during my 1st and 2nd semester back in college. I am not so keen on focusing on this subject. Hehe. Fact that I love kids + baby (all the cute one esp.) but working with infant would be more tiring and more challenging then working with adult patient. The way we clerk the patient is different let alone when you want to do physical examination on them. Most of them would cry their heart out even by looking at your face. Phew... Next rotation is my medical rotation. Urgh. As usual, medical. Needles to say, its going to be a hectic day and week and fortnight all along. Will update if I am able to find the time in here. Anyway, its resting time after a hard day work in peads and I am not even post call still I got a rest day. Muahaha....

my peads rotation

well.this week is my final weeks in peads department. The last thing on my mind right now were to get my clerking assignment done before week end.

Like the previous post that I had mention, clerking in peads is like a whole new different thing from my other rotation before. Come to think about it, it does become a challenge esp to student whom is not really familiar with peads clerking system. I mean like, if you were to stay in Medical, or Surgical, you can simply obtain all the information required from the pt him/herself. But since that working in peads would simply means that you are dealing with newborn, infants, and children whom can barely speak, how are you going to obtain the information. Not to mention all the movement, and crying during the physical examination.

1 thing that i also find out during my peads posting were, taking blood sample be it routine check for FBC to obtaining sample for Blood C&S was hell of a job in peads.

Ouh ya, before I forgot, quick update about what happen when I am at work today. Today is my second day working in SCN and NICU / PICU. Some hospital call it Neonatal but there are some called it as peads ICU. It was an eye opener of course but I regret not being able to see how phototherapy is done. I know the fact that I wont be dealing with this cases when I enter my temp placement or even permanent placement, but at least if I got the chance to watch how the procedure is done, it would be beneficial since I can tell others or better still that others wont tell me the story as the other way around. Or maybe I could share my experience to my patients if happen that I have to work in Health Clinic.

Well, guess that was enough for today. Anyway, my roomate were not here since he had to do his district posting for about a month. Means I can have the room all by myself lah...Muahaha...

Will update this experience later. (As this would be among the last post that I will put up here before finishing my study)

final of 4 weeks

phew. it really been a long time since i last post on something in here.

Well, to be frank, i have been quite busy with school lately. Research to be done. Clinical posting to be attended to. Assessment, medical term to memories, subject to be revised. Phew. Life had been hectic for me for the past this 4 months.

My current posting is actually at Pediatrics Isolation Ward. Not to say that Peads would be my kind of forte but what the heck. I need to get this done in order for me to finish my study. Working in peads, not much that i can practice but hell that i need to open more notes more frequent now since i am really not familiar with all the clerking terms of peads. It's not that the clerking system is different from other rotation but in some way, they are still few aspect that i can't get my hands off as such immunization, full hx of family members. But most stressing part is that, blood taking in peads is hell of a job esp for student.

Well enough about my peads posting, my rotation for this semester started with Emergency Medicine. Cont. with health clinic (me like so much - muahaha) even though i get a placement at kinda deserted place or better to put as rural area, but its hell of experience for me. I got to know ppl from the community and being part of the community is something that i learn during this posting. Will update the stories of my community posting on the other post.

Apart from Emergency Medicine and Health clinic, I also had finish my Ophthalmology and Orthorhinolaringology posting for this semester. Not much of the stories that I had for both of the above posting as i don't get much hands on in the department, but sure thing that i obtain when i was there was the fun of learning. :-)
